Kym Gleeson - Service Manager

I have worked in the Health and Social Care sector within South Yorkshire for over 25 years. More recently I worked as a well-being coordinator for Age UK to support older people back to a life they loved prior to the pandemic or into a new life post-pandemic.

I have also managed an Extra Care housing scheme for people with complex health needs, supporting and maintaining their independence through different support avenues and activities.

Living in Rotherham, has meant that I have come into contact with people who are providing great health and social care services, and I have also had experience of being on the other side and needing to support and advocate for my daughter with complex health needs to ensure she could have her voice heard to enable her to live as independent a life as possible.

Andrea McCann - Community Engagement and Project Officer

My name is Andrea McCann and I’m the Community Engagement and Project Officer for Healthwatch Rotherham. I have lived in Rotherham for most of my life, working in support roles both within the health and the education sector, and I am passionate about ensuring that everyone receives the care and support that they need when required. Hearing the needs, concerns, and voices of our community is vital in ensuring that potential improvements are addressed in the development and delivery of health and social care services across Rotherham.

Outside of work, I enjoy walking in the countryside with my family and little dog Frankie. I like to keep fit, and enjoy a good spinning class, listening to music and attending music events including musical theatre productions. I also sing in a local community choir where we perform concerts several times throughout the year.

Nicola Ellis - Research and Campaigns Officer

I have lived in Rotherham for most of my adult life and have worked with children with Special Education Needs and Education and Health Care Plans for the last 6 years, directly supporting them in classrooms and also liaising with parents to ensure everything possible was done to enable them to succeed.

Prior to working in education, I worked for the Home Office in Immigration Intelligence for 14 years, providing a listening ear to those facing problems and taking action to resolve those issues and prevent others suffering in the same way.

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family and I’ve been involved in many local clubs and organisations including swimming, athletics and dance.

Nicola Fells - Information and Signposting Officer

I have lived in Rotherham all of my life and have worked in health care for the last 17 years. My previous role was in Health Information at The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust where I worked alongside healthcare teams and partnered with a wide range of social and health services in the area. I get a great deal of satisfaction from providing people with the means to support their health and care for their families.

When I'm not working I spend my free time with my family and my pet cats who always keep me busy. I've recently taken up yoga and enjoy walking.
