What should we focus on?

Each year at Healthwatch Rotherham, we focus on specific topics alongside our usual work.  In 2024, we're continuing our work on young people and are also focusing on the experience of those with learning disabilities and autism, as well as refugees and asylum seekers.

If you have any ideas about areas of health and social care that we should look into in the future, then please share them with us through the survey below.

This survey is open year-round.

Enter & View visits

Throughout the year we conduct Enter & View visits under the Health and Social Care Act 2012 legislation to premises where health and social care is publicly funded, such as hospitals, residential homes, GP practices, dental surgeries, optometrists and pharmacies.

We visit to:
● collect the views from patients, families, volunteers and staff on services.
● observe how the facility operates and provides its services.
● identify ‘Best Practice’ and highlight any areas of concern.

We have no current Enter & View survey's running.  Please check back in July for details of our next visit.

Key topics for 2025 - 2026

We have now published our key topics for 2025 to 2026 which include looking at:

  • The health and social care experiences of people who are addicted, or in recovery from addiction
  • Understanding the communication difficulties experienced by people using health and social care
  • Investigating the experiences of people using social care services

Keep an eye out on our social media channels and our website for updates on how you can get involved in each project.

Your story has the power to make a difference.

The more people share their ideas, experiences and concerns about NHS and social care, the more services can understand what works, what doesn't and what people want from care in the future.

If it matters to you, it's likely it matters to someone else too. We want to hear your views. Get in touch and share your story.
