Rotherham Show 2024
Along with our friends at Citizens Advice Rotherham & District and Rotherham Cancer Advocacy, we were there on the 7th and 8th of September to say ‘Hello’ to you all and have a good chat.
As well as talking to people about what we do at Healthwatch and how we can help, we also invited people to complete our survey about their experiences of health and social care. A fantastic 31 of you took the time to fill one in for us whilst you were there!
The feedback you gave us will form part of the September edition of our ‘What we heard’ report, which will be available on our website and social media at the start of October. These reports are fed back to the services to highlight any areas that need to be improved, as well as to give them praise where things are working well. Keep your eyes peeled for when it comes out!
If you would like to add your experiences to our report, you can still complete our survey online by clicking on this link:
Whilst we were there, we asked people to write down:
- What makes you happy?
- What makes you sad?
- What do you do to make yourself feel better?
It seems that many of you think that food, family, pets and hobbies are the things that make you happy and we saw plenty of all of those at the Rotherham Show!
The things that you told us make you sad were mostly about the stresses you feel from everyday life, both at home and at work. We know that many of you are still feeling the effects of the cost of living crisis and it was no surprise that money issues were also highlighted. As you told us friends and family made you happy, it was no wonder that being lonely, losing friends to illness, people being unkind and bullying made you sad.
In Rotherham we are lucky enough to have many services that can help support people and help them make connections. Rotherham Gismo is a great starting point to find something in your area: Rotherham Gismo
Citizens Advice Rotherham & District are always there for you for any money or work related advice. Their website is full of helpful information as well as contact details to get in touch and speak to someone: Citizens Advice Rotherham & District
