Healthwatch Rotherham: Annual Report 2025-26

At Healthwatch Rotherham, everything we do starts with listening. Over the past year, we have worked closely with people across our community to understand their experiences of health and social care, ensuring their voices are not only heard but acted upon. Through engagement, partnership working, and evidence-based insight, we have helped influence meaningful improvements to local services, making care more accessible, responsive, and person-centred for the people of Rotherham.

Our highlights include:

  • Supporting more than 1,500 local people to have their say and get information on their care.
  • Hearing from over 1,900 residents about their experiences of health and social care, helping to shape improvements across local services.
  • Publishing 78 reports highlighting the improvements local people would like to see in areas including mental health, access to adult social care, and support for veterans.
  • Engaging face to face with more than 1,500 people across over 80 outreach activities and a further 23 community events across the borough.
  • Signposting people to over 1,100 health and social care services, ensuring residents can access the right support when they need it.
  • Distributing over 1,000 communication cards to improve accessibility for people with additional communication needs when using services.
  • Supporting improvements to key services, including the development of a 12-month improvement plan for the Waiting Well service and enhancements to adult social care access.
  • Growing our reach and engagement, including a 119% increase in social media reach and a 68% increase in newsletter membership.
